Lily Allen Controversial New Single Says Everyone is on Drugs
07:34 - Wednesday 29 October 2008 - In Category UK Entertainment
Chart-topper Lily Allen claims taking drugs has become a national obsession in the UK.
On her latest track, Everyone’s At It, which was posted on the internet last month, Lily sings about young girls becoming addicted to cocaine and anti-depressants.
She sings: ‘I’m not trying to say that I’m smelling of roses but when will we tire of putting shit up our noses. It’s meant to be fun and this just doesn’t feel right.’
It goes on: ‘Why can’t we all just be honest, admit to ourselves that everyone’s on it, from politicians to young adolescents, prescribing themselves anti-depressants.’
Everyone’s At It is expected to be the lead single from Lily’s next album, It’s Not Me, It’s You, due out in February 2009.
