Jill Scott Celebrates 40th Birthday

Multi Grammy-winning singer Jill Scott marked her 40th birthday earlier this week.
Jill, who was born on 4 April 1972, became a household name after the release of her multi platinum-selling debut, Who Is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds Vol 1 in 2000.
The thought provoking album was followed by two gold-status LPs; Beautifully Human: Words and Sounds Vol 2 released in 2004, and The Real Thing: Words and Sounds Vol 3 released in 2007.
In addition to singing, Jill established herself as a respected actress appearing in big screen movies including Hounddog and Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married?
Four years ago, she was cast as the lead role in the BBC/HBO series The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency, and during the same period became a mother for the first time, aged 36.
Jill shares the same birth date with author-poet Maya Angelou, singer Kelly Price and magician David Blaine.
