David Lammy Debates the Causes of London Riots

In an article published in the aftermath of last year’s London riots, we accused David Lammy, MP for Tottenham, of being ‘sluggish’ in his response to the uprising and ‘…out of step with the community he serves.’

However, last week on Newsnight Lammy made several accurate and salient observations during a discussion about the findings of a government report into the causes of the riots.

Watch him here and judge for yourself (clip available until 3 April).
