Preview: Premier League 2011-2012

Is it business as usual for the four big teams in the Premier League this season, or will we get to see some excitement and real football for a change? Writes Wayne Brown.

Last season, the top team, Manchester United, were exposed as second rate in the Champions League final, leaving manager Sir Alex Ferguson – who has gone on to spend £50mllion – with a nervous disposition and a touch of the shakes.

Chelsea FC aka the King’s Road pretenders have a new manager and have the funds to outspend their rivals, but can cash gel a team of superstars?

Arsenal will be lucky to finish in the top eight, especially if they fail to hang on to their top players.

How many managers will be sacked before Xmas and which players will leave their clubs for pastures new in January?

One thing’s for sure: this season’s relegation battle will be more entertaining than ever for match-paying fans and Sky subscribers alike.
