Listen to Angie Le Mar and Richard Madeley on BBC Radio 2

Acclaimed stand-up comedian, writer and broadcaster Angie Le Mar joined broadcaster Richard Madeley on BBC Radio 2 this week.

The pair talked everything including Angie’s predictive Ghanaian ancestry during the newspaper review segments of the show, which Madeley’s covering for breakfast presenter Chris Evans.

Angie’s radio appearance comes as she prepares to return to the London stage in October with her adventurous new comedy drama, In My Shoes.

The ambitious one-woman production, directed by Femi Elufowoju, jr, finds Angie stepping comfortably into new territory performing as six apparently dissimilar individuals whose lives are intricately interwoven.

She says: ‘This is the one production I really need to do and it’s a test for me because it’s something I’ve always wanted, but previously shied away from.

‘This production gives me a platform to dig further into my abilities as an artiste. It’s just a woman delivering voices, in script and performance.’

In My Shoes plays a limited run at Soho Theatre, London from 15 October to 5 November. For tickets, click here or call 020 7478 0100.
