Fulham FC to Honour Michael Jackson with Statue
05:33 - Friday 18 March 2011 - In Categories Sport, UK Entertainment
Fulham FC chairman Mohamed Fayed has announced plans to unveil a statue of and singer Michael Jackson outside Craven Cottage.
The singer who was a close friend of former Harrods owner Al-Fayed, was a Fulham fan and after a bit of shopping (see video below) accompanied the chairman to watch the team’s 2-0 victory over Wigan in 1999.
Al-Fayed plans to unveil the commemorative statue on 3 April before Fulham’s match against Blackpool. He said: ‘Michael Jackson was truly a legend, a term used too often in this modern world saturated in the hyperbole surrounding celebrity.’
