George Osborne Accused of Homophobia
06:34 - Monday 27 December 2010 - In Categories UK News, UK Videos
The Chancellor George Osborne has been branded homophobic for called gay MP Chris Byrant a ‘pantomime dame’ during a live TV debate.
Osborne made the comment last week during the Treasury questions after Bryant accused the Chancellor of behaving like the pantomime character Baron Hard-Up (Cinderella’s father) in his handling of British economy.
After the debate, Bryant wrote on Twitter: ‘So George Osborne clearly doesn’t know how to be charming with his jibe at me as “pantomime dame”. Homophobic or just nasty?’
