In 2007, News of the World journalist Clive Goodman was jailed for illegally hacking the phones of members of the royal household.
Then, in April, the officer in charge of the police inquiry, assistant commissioner Andy Hayman, left the force for a job at the Rupert Murdoch owned newspaper.
Critics such as the producer of this insightful documentary, ABC Australia, believe Murdoch and British journalists regularly break the law and accuse the police of ignoring their crimes.
But Murdoch associate and former editor of The Sun, Kelvin MacKenzie, asks: ‘where is the proof?’
