We'll Bring 100,000 to Protest Tuition Fees
03:35 - Thursday 02 December 2010 - In Categories UK News, UK Videos
Campaigners expect 100,000 protestors to attend a rally in central London on 9 December – the same day politicians will vote on tuition fees.
Simon Hardy from the National Campaign Against Cuts and Fees says organisers have started planning for the demonstration, which they predict will be the largest so far.
‘Students are taking action, building up momentum for Day X, when Parliament will discuss the tuition fee increase,’ said Hardy.
‘You’re gonna see 100,000 on the streets of London,’ he added.
Meanwhile, thousands of students in Rome clashed with police over cuts in funding for education.
Campaigners fear new government proposals will give the private sector too much involvement in the state university system.
