African dancehall star Samini launched his latest album, Dagaati, at a private party at Gramaphone in London recently.
More than 200 celebs, music industry executives and journalists attended the event – the UK’s first album launch for a Ghanaian musician – which featured a special-guest PA by award-winning rapper Bashy and a 30 minute Samini set.
Samini (formerly known as Batman), 27, is Ghana’s leading reggae artist and received a MOBO Award for Best African Act in 2006.
Dagaati, his third studio album, features collaborations with Grammy-nominated British reggae band Steel Pulse, Jamaican songstress Etana and Sway.
