Italian Stallion Balotelli Battling Fitness for Juventus Clash

Manchester City forward Mario Balotelli says he is six to eight weeks away from full fitness, and is targeting his team’s Europa league game against Italian giants Juventus to make his comeback, writes Julien Mitchell.

As an Inter Milan player last year, Balotelli – an Italian born to Ghanaian parents – was racially abused by Juventus fans who chanted: ‘A black Italian doesn’t exist’.

The 20-year-old has been out of action due to a knee surgery after making his Premier League goal scoring debut in September.

The fiery Italian, known as ‘Super Mario‘, believes the mid-December clash in Turin is the perfect occasion to impress his manager and defy critics.

‘I am six to eight weeks away from full fitness, but I want to prove to my manager I can play.

‘The game against Juventus is the one I want,’ he said.
