Ferrari 458 is Fast, But a Fire Hazard
07:16 - Friday 03 September 2010 - In Category World News
Ferrari’s latest supercar, the 458 Italia, has been recalled after several vehicles burst into flames with the drivers inside.
The Italian carmaker blamed the problem on an adhesive used in the production of the car which was prone to melting at high temperatures.
Roger Stansfield, associate editor of What Car? magazine, believes it’s unlikely the recall will damage the company’s long-term reputation.
He said: ‘I’m sure they would prefer it hadn’t happened, but Ferrari has been racing in Formula One one since Formula One began and it’s had all sorts of scandals and Machiavelli deals.
‘I think it’s got a broad enough back to deal with it.’
