Google to Make and Sell Films

Google is planning to offer a pay-per-view movie service through its popular video site YouTube.

The search engine is in negotiations with major Hollywood studios to offer films that would cost around three pounds each.

The move, which would help film companies tackle the problem of pirated DVDs and illegally streamed online movies, could come into effect by the end of the year.

In related news, film producer Michael London says he is planning to release a film about Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page.

He said: ‘It’s about these two young guys who created a company that changed the world and how the world in turn changed them.

‘The heart of the movie is their wonderful edict: don’t be evil.

‘Can you stay true to principles like that as you become as rich and powerful as that company has become?’
