World Cup and Premier League Footballer John Paintsil to Launch GUBA Awards

World Cup star John Paintsil is to launch the Ghana UK Based Achievement (GUBA) awards at the Ghana High Commission in London this week.

The GUBA awards ceremony, which takes place at Porchester Hall on Sunday 24 October, will honour 16 individuals and businesses that serve the Ghanaian community and have excelled through hard work and diligence in Britain.

At the launch on Thursday, Fulham defender and event patron Paintsil will say: ‘I’m proud to be part of the first Ghana UK Based Achievement Awards.

‘It’s not often that professionals from different industries come together under one roof to celebrate their achievements.

‘Well done to the organizers of this event for having the vision and initiative to put this ceremony together.’

In this video recorded during World Cup 2010, Paintsil talks about playing against Uruguay who would later rob Ghana of a place in the semi finals.
