A 21-year-old singer from south London has been hailed a ‘young Mary J Blige’ after hooking up with one of the superstar’s hit producers.
Selah, who has previously sang with Ms Dynamite and Lemar, is currently blowing up the airwaves with Because Of You – the latest drum and base track from veteran producer Blame.
The tune has caused a storm among top DJs, including Radio 1’s Sara Cox, Trevor Nelson and Zane Lowe.
In addition, Selah recently joined forces with renowned producer Herb Middleton, who worked on Mary’s iconic 1994 album My Life.
One industry source told Overgroundonline: ‘The sound Herb Middleton has created with Selah is being well received.
‘Some US music insiders are saying she’s reminiscent of a young Mary.’
